Leaving Care
Our Leaving Care Service is here to support you until you are 25 years (and we are still around after that if you need to get in touch!) Here are the main parts of our Local Offer for Care Leavers:
- Knowing your rights What you can expect from us and what to do if things aren't right
- Accommodation Help and support with finding and maintaining the right place for you
- Relationships Keeping in touch with important people and making new friends
- Health and Wellbeing Help with physical and mental health and access to leisure opportunities
- Education, Training and Employment Find the right path for you and support along the way
- Positive Activities Having your say, discounted cultural opportunities, celebration events and more
- Finance and Support Advice and information, from 'setting up home' grants to exemption from Council Tax
Where to Find Us
South Tyneside's Leaving Care Service is based the the Market Place in South Shields.
You can arrange to meet your Personal Advisor (PA) here, or join us for Job Club, Breakfast Club, the Care Leavers Council and lots more.

Our Care Leavers Council is a group of care leavers who meet monthly to socialise and give their views about how the service can be improved.
