About the role

We’re looking for a visionary leader with extensive experience working across the commissioning landscape.

Reporting to the Director of Adult Social Services and Commissioning, you will be a figurehead for your service area, liaising with Members, non-executive directors and external agencies to influence agendas and increase inward investment.

This is a high-profile role leading the service areas with a real focus on improving outcomes for residents in South Tyneside, whilst also securing services which deliver best value for money.

In this role you will maintain high standards of commissioning practices across the department. You will build on good health and care partnerships to develop innovative models of care and support to transform people’s lives.

As a great leader you will be able to identify the opportunities for improved outcomes, performance and value build on evidence and sound analysis.

About You

We’re seeking a forward-thinking individual with significant experience and a thorough understanding of commissioning, contract, transformation and change initiatives particularly within a social care context but we recognise the benefit of working within a wider health and care context.

You will be able to demonstrate strategic planning skills that support innovation and improvement in our services and leadership skills that empower and enable our staff in their development and delivery.
