Thank you Francesca
Ensuring safety during lockdown wins Francesca the admiration of her colleagues
Safeguarding in partnerships officer, Francesca Gray, who works for South Tyneside Council, has been nominated by colleague, Lauren Berry.
Lauren, said: “Frankie has worked tirelessly to assist the most complex and vulnerable people in our borough, to keep them safe during the pandemic. She has won the admiration of her colleagues as she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the needs of her clients are met and that they are offered the highest level of support and reassurance during these most difficult times.”
Francesca, from Gateshead, said: “I really enjoy arranging for the safeguarding of our residents in South Tyneside. As soon as we went into lockdown, I wanted to make sure they knew they were supported. Some do not have access to mobile phones but that does not deter us. We continue to visit them three times a week and maintain contact by standing in the garden, at a safe distance. We also collect any prescriptions they may need and deliver food supplied by Hospitality and Hope food bank and South Tyneside charity, Key Projects.
“I work within a very supportive environment and would also like to mention my colleague, Corrinne Towsey, who is as passionate as myself about the job we do and the responsibility we have for our clients.”
The Mayor of South Tyneside Councillor Norman Dick, said: “On behalf of the people of South Tyneside, The Mayoress and I would like to convey our gratitude to you for your commitment to your role as a key worker, supporting those in need during the pandemic.
“Many residents recognise key frontline Council workers, such as refuse collectors, who have continued to work throughout, but don’t necessarily hear about some of the ‘hidden’ key workers, who are supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community. I would like to say a huge personal thank you for being part of our community and for enthusiastically playing a key role in supporting others during these challenging times. We are extremely #proud.”
