Thank you Angela

Angela demonstrates fantastic leadership everyday as her team takes the fight to COVID-19

Lorraine Charlton, part of the team at Clarendon district nurses, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, has nominated her manager, Angela Proctor, clinical team lead for the west team which has shown immense levels of leadership amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lorraine, said: “Angela looks after a team of 33 frontline nurses and she always takes the time to ensure that every single one of us is feeling fine, that we don’t have any concerns or fears and she always updates us with any government changes, whilst also ensuring that communication flows seamlessly. On behalf of all of her team, I want to personally thank Angela for keeping all our spirits up and being the great comfort that she is during the pandemic.”

Angela from Jarrow, said: “I am shocked that I have been nominated but this is a lovely surprise. It means so much more because it is coming from my team and knowing that they feel supported during what is a scary time for all frontline or key workers, makes me feel overwhelming pleased and happy. I am very proud of my entire team and all of the hard work that they do on a daily basis.

“I would also like to say a special thank you to my manager, Hazel Robertson, for all of her hard work and support.

“My main aim is to keep the staff safe, keep morale high and spirits up and to support the team in any way I can, whilst also realising that we have to work differently because of social distancing. My team consists of community matrons, district nursing sisters, community staff nurses, health care assistants and student nurses who provide care to patients in their own homes. My number one priority is that they feel safe at all times.”

The Mayor of South Tyneside Councillor Norman Dick, said: “On behalf of the people of South Tyneside, The Mayoress and I would like to convey our gratitude to you and all of your team for the outstanding level of care provided during such difficult times.

“Supporting others and helping raise morale is so important at this time. As the Borough’s First Citizen, I would like to say a huge personal thank you for being part of our community and for helping us address this challenge in an extremely positive way. We are extremely #proud.”
